At a glance: Corporate Plan 2008/09-2011/12

The Corporate Plan sets out the council’s vision for the organisation. It shows how we will get to where we want to go over the next four years and it looks back at our progress to date.

Our values set out our aspirations for Barnet as an organisation and place, serving its residents:

• Barnet - the place: We want Barnet to play its part on the wider stage as a successful city suburb in a successful London.
• Barnet - the people: We want to work with our partners to understand the needs and aspirations of our residents so that we consistently provide excellent public services to our diverse population.
• Barnet - the organisation: We want to provide high quality services offering value for money and maximum choice.

Our Corporate Priorities

We have set ourselves six priorities over the next four years:

• A bright future for children and young people: Improving the quality of life of all Barnet’s children and young people.
• Clean, green and safe: Ensuring that all our neighbourhoods are a safe, clean and green place to live.
• Supporting the vulnerable: Supporting vulnerable adults to live independent and active lives.
• Strong and healthy: Ensuring Barnet has a thriving sense of community and our residents lead a healthy lifestyle.
• Barnet - a successful city-suburb: Protecting and enhancing the best of Barnet while growing through successful regeneration and sustainable development.
• More choice, better value: Providing community leadership, community choice and higher quality services.
