Refuge is the largest specialist provider of domestic violence services in the country.  Alongside providing safe, emergency accommodation and emotional and practical support to women and children experiencing domestic violence, Refuge’s services include specialist refuge and outreach projects for black and minority ethnic communities. It has a growing team of independent domestic violence advocates whose primary role is to support a woman through the civil and criminal justice system. On any given day Refuge is supporting over 1,000 women and children. It also runs the Freephone 24-hour National Domestic Violence Helpline in partnership with Women's Aid.

Refuge is seeking an experienced HR Manager to play a key role in the development of its operational human resource management systems and processes. Reporting into the Head of HR you will be responsible for managing a small team, delivering a proactive, customer focused, high quality HR service to a national client base. The HR Manager will also contribute to strategic projects and deputise for the Head of HR in her absence.

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate a solid range of skills and expertise including the ability to develop systems, lead HR projects and manage complex ER casework proactively. You will also possess strong writing skills, broad employment law knowledge and TUPE expertise. The ability to oversee an HR administration and payroll function will be necessary together with at least graduate membership of the CIPD. Not for profit/public sector experience is desirable but a delivery focused approach is essential.
