An Independent Charity based in South London is currently recruiting for an Interim Finance Manager to cover whilst a permanent appointment is made into the post. The successful interim candidate will have the opportunity to apply for this role.
Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will take responsibility for the following key tasks:
- Managing and leading on the year end process
- Producing the Charity’s statutory accounts, providing schedules required for the audit and liaising with the Auditors.
- Producing accurate monthly management information for SMT and budget holders.
- Managing the Charity’s annual budgeting process, ensuring that all budgets are submitted on time.
- Liaising with and providing training to budget holders.
- Continually reviewing systems and internal controls and developing new systems and controls where necessary.
- Managing 3 Finance Officers.
- Extensive use of Great Plains, Vision and SUN sequel server.
The successful candidate must have a strong background within the Not for Profit sector and have recent experience (I.e. 08/09) of leading on the preparation and closure of statutory accounts under SORP. You must have a working knowledge of SORP and be able to demonstrate sound accounting technical skills, of both a financial and management nature.
Candidates with previous exposure to the three systems named above will be considered particularly favourably.
Ideally you will also be available on 1 weeks notice maximum.
