My Public Sector client are recruiting a Senior Contracts manager to drive a professional and seamless approach to the organisations contract management process that supports the overall strategy
- Ensure that the management of contracts is efficient, effective and consistent, ensuring value for money throughout the life of the contract.
- To be responsible for the management of key contracts, ensuring the supplier performance and relationships are maintained and developed to deliver high quality service to customers.
- Identify, deliver and drive improvements in the contract management approach and practises of the team in order that the service offering is robust and of a high quality.
- Provide appropriate and strong governance and control to ensure compliance with relevant procedures, overall strategy and all applicable legislation to ensure that the interests of the organisation, are protected and opportunities maximised.
- Be directly responsible for managing high value and strategic contracts of a portfolio value of £60m+ as designated by the Procurement Manager(s) or Head of Strategic Procurement, working with colleagues to ensure contracts are let and managed appropriately.
- Work with colleagues from across the team and the wider organisations to ensure that the use of such contracts delivers maximum value for money throughout their life.
- Identify delivery and drive opportunities for savings and deliver these through improved post contract award activity.
- Take responsibility for managing contract administration of contracts as designated by either the Procurement Manager(s) or Head of Strategic Procurement.
- Carry out and lead on the improvement of the approach taken to financial management activities and supply market analysis as appropriate.
- To monitor the organisations performance in carrying out contract management functions, including around equal opportunities, risk and other key strategies.
- Represent the Procurement Manager and Head of Strategic Procurement where applicable with: Director of Business Services, Heads of Service, Audit, Contracts Review Board, suppliers and officers
- Develop and maintaining effective key relationships with directors and other senior managers, members, service stakeholders, external partners, government bodies and agencies.
- Offer professional and sound contract management advice to departments at all times, ensuring that best practise approaches are embedded into the ways of working.
Successful candidates will have previous Public Sector experience in procurement at a similar level.
