Head of Finance – Research Department

My client an education organisation is looking for a Head of Finance to provide strategic and professional leadership for all research related matters.

The role will manage the whole research project process from the bid initiation through to final reporting and requires a strong project accountant who has an understanding of academic works.

Working closely with Research and Faculty members outside of finance, you will be responsible for ensuring the organisation are able to maximise opportunities for research income growth.

Roles and responsibilities include;

• Review departmental performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practice in policy and procedures
• Maintain a customer focus on professional bid costing and post award grant and contract management services
• Managing external reporting requirement and compliance issues, maximising efficiencies
• Play a key role in the formulation of financial projections in annual planning process

Successful candidates will demonstrate strong communication skills in order to successfully negotiate with colleagues and influence them to maintain due diligence.
