Buying and Merchandising Finance Manager

A leading high street Retailer is looking to hire a Buying and Merchandising Finance Manager. Reporting to the Head of Finance the successful candidate’s responsibilities will include; being the key point of financial contact within the buying and merchandising team and responsible for constant business performance through financial analysis.

 

Your role will include;

• Challenging business investments, driving optimum value for money
• Manage reporting process and provide timely accurate insight into business over/under performance
• Production of budgets & forecasts
• Covering sales stocks, price and margin by business channel and country
• Ensuring the strategy for the delivery and growth of margins is in place
• Analysis of international forecasts and budgets to the equivalent merchandising and location plans, managing the difference and challenging where appropriate
• Reviewing weekly stock issues and provides an insight to future risks/opportunities in accordance to the budget
• Provide independent  financial views as well as targets to heads of merchandising and the Finance team

 

In addition the successful candidate will be responsible for the review of all marketing spend including robust campaign analysis using control groups where possible, ensuring that trade driving initiatives are built into budgets, forecasts.

 

To be considered for this role you will need to have:

• Qualified Accountant
• Comprehensive understanding of retail
• Buying and Merchandising experience a preference
• Strong financial analysis and budgeting experience
• Exceptional communication skills with a high level of commercial aptitude
• Good level of computer literacy

 

The successful candidate will have an engaging personality with the ability to deal with people at all levels. Comfortable in front groups with good presentation skills.
