MRC Technology is the technology transfer agent for the UK’s Medical Research Council, responsible for translating cutting edge scientific discoveries into the commercial products which ultimately go on to change lives. With an operating budget of £20m and 125 staff, MRC Technology are a registered charity dedicated to improving healthcare.
Having been a direct subsidiary of the Medical Research Council, MRC Technology is now changing to gain greater autonomy. As such, we need to raise the profile of Governance & Compliance, which is where this important new role comes in.
Reporting to the Director of Corporate Resources, your key responsibilities will include:
- Acting as Company Secretary, ensuring our statutory compliance including managing all returns required by Companies House and the Charities Commission
- Providing a Secretariat function for the MRCT Board and Directors
- Undertaking the custodianship of Corporate Information
- Ensuring our risk register is current and relevant
Ideally, you will have previous experience of working within a similar context in the charitable sector. You will relish the opportunity to grow and develop the role as our structure and governance evolve. You will have a high profile internally, and as well as strong technical ability you will need the credibility and communications skills to work effectively with a wide range of senior managers and stakeholders.
