Managing a net budget of £72m and supporting 5,000 service users, the successful candidate will lead a team of 8 to deliver excellent, customer focussed financial services.

You will ensure the directorate meets council requirements for budget setting, monitoring and reporting. 

You will also support the Head of Finance developing the Directorate’s financial strategy and deliver efficiency savings.

The role involves extensive partnership working with local health and voluntary services staff to ensure effective management of joint financial arrangements.

The successful candidate will be CCAB qualified, have experience of leading budget setting/closure of accounts within a complex, demand led local authority environment.  He/She will ideally be from an adults or children’s services background, and will have the gravitas to operate at the most senior level with Directors of Service and external stakeholders.
