The Whittington is a general acute NHS Trust providing services to the local population in North London. The Trust spends approximately £50m on goods and services with over 1,500 suppliers, and actively participates in projects with the London Procurement Programme.
At the Whittington Hospital NHS Trust we aim to be the hospital of choice for local people. Our objective is to develop our procurement department to become a high performing function that will maximise savings for reinvestment in patient services.
As the Head of Procurement you will have responsibility for a team of 15.
Your brief will include:
- Delivering a procurement strategy.
- Implementing e-procurement across the Trust.
- Delivering savings targets.
- Influencing clinical and non clinical spend.
- Ensuring robust procurement processes are adhered to.
Ideally you will be MCIPS qualified, or hold an equivalent postgraduate qualification. You will have a demonstrable track record of leading large teams, delivering strategy and savings as well as influencing senior management and stakeholders. Previous experience of the Public Sector will be beneficial, knowledge of OJEU process is essential.
