First Community Health & Care
Morgan Law - Recruitment Consultancy

First Community Health & Care (FCHC) is a new social enterprise, formed on October 1st from existing community health services that were formerly part of the NHS. We currently serve East Surrey and the surrounding area, offering a range of health and care services with an excellent reputation for quality.

The creation of FCHC has been driven by our staff, who are excited by the opportunities for us to innovate, grow, develop and improve our services as an autonomous Community Interest Company. With an income of £16m and 350 staff, we are not the largest player in this field. However, our scale means that with the right leadership and vision, we have the potential to adapt, flex and forge partnerships more rapidly than others as we seek to exceed commissioner and service user expectations.

Salary: c. £85,000
Location: Based in Redhill, Surrey (may move to Caterham)

Closing date for applications: 12 noon, 5th December

Our new Managing Director therefore needs to have the drive, vision and ambition to enable us to realise the continuous improvements we all aspire to achieve for patients, their carers and service users.

To succeed, you will need to bring a resolute commitment to quality and be adept at spotting opportunities, developing strategy, effecting change and delivering outcomes. You’ll bring experience of leading services at Board level in the health or care sector, but you must have done more than keep the status quo. We need you to challenge, innovate and change if we’re to thrive. You’ll also need exceptional relationship management skills; the ability to operate both strategically and in a relatively hands-on capacity; and the desire to operate as part of a team that will create its own destiny.

In return we offer a great platform on which to begin: a strong and challenging new Board; an organisation performing very well clinically and financially; and an engaged and committed staff group.

Our new Finance & Resources Director will be flexible and adaptable in their approach, able to work effectively across differing challenges. You will play a full strategic role as a member of our small management team, and lead a broad portfolio of services that includes Finance, Estates, IT and Contracting. In addition, you will share the challenges and rewards of new business development, undertaking complex costings and supporting exciting new bids in a hands-on fashion.

An experienced and qualified finance professional, your charismatic leadership will enable you to develop lean and effective teams of likeminded professionals across multiple disciplines. You’ll champion continuous improvement in our resources functions, leading the development of new systems, processes and ways of working that enable us to continue our transition to becoming a first class social enterprise.

In return, you will enjoy an innovative and committed working environment, one where together with a new Managing Director and senior clinical colleagues, you will shape the innovative delivery of healthcare for years to come.
