University South West Finance Manager – Payroll and Pensions
£44,400 – £57,700 plus excellent holidays and pension benefits
We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Finance Manager – Payroll and Pensions to lead a team responsible for the day-to-day operation and control of payroll and pension matters across the University.
Reporting in to the Head of Operations and part of the senior finance team, you will also support the team responsible for quarterly and annual financial reporting and provide advice on pay and pension matters to all staff, academic and support managers.
Other responsibilities in this role include:
- Leadership, management and delivery of monthly payroll service for approximately 8,000 University employees and workers.
- Management of the global mobility function to ensure University compliance with immigration, tax and social security laws and regulations in the UK as well as other jurisdictions.(this is in close working relationship with HR)
- Identify and where appropriate deliver a strategy to protect the University from increases in staff costs.
- Management and delivery of monthly payroll services for other related organisations.
- To take the lead in managing any system or administrative changes affecting payroll and pensions for both internal and external sources.
Prior experience of working in finance in this area of payroll in a busy finance team would be ideal and also excellent interpersonal skills in order to effectively communicate complex financial information across the University.
Good IT and analytical skills, being able to extract and manipulate data, in particular using Excel or similar and the ability to develop good working relationships with colleagues, external advisors and external bodies is also desirable
