Interim Employee Relations Manager
Our client, a leading London-based University now has an opportunity for an experienced Employee Relations Manager to join them for an initial fixed-term period of 6 months paying £55,549 to £57,015 per year depending upon experience. Please note; this role offers hybrid flexible working with a minimum of 3 days per week working from the East London offices. You will report to the Head of ER & Policy and be responsible for an ER Adviser.
As Employee Relations Manager you will work as part of the Employee Relations and Policy team to provide robust and pragmatic Employee Relations advice and guidance to an allocated group of stakeholders and managers. You will offer a supportive and proactive approach to providing appropriate and timely advice and guidance to enable managers to develop confidence and competence to effectively deal with the whole range of people management issues.
To be considered you will require significant experience of advising and supporting managers on very complex and sensitive, formal employee relations cases, gained within a unionised environment. Ideally this will include experience of working in a Higher Education organisation / University.
You will also require:
- Experience of dealing with and responding to Employment Tribunal claims and correspondence from ACAS
- A proven track record in supporting managers and staff through an effective change process
- Up to date knowledge of UK employment law and Employment Tribunal procedures
- Comprehensive knowledge of equalities related legislation across all HR disciplines and people management best practice
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrable ability to build strong and credible professional relationships with stakeholders
- Experience of working in Higher Education or a similar public sector environment is highly desirable
