My public sector client is looking to recruit a permanent procurement officer into their busy procurement team. Reporting into the Senior Procurement Officer, the role will be responsible for managing end to end procurement projects, in line with public sector regulation as well as establish relationships with stakeholders and prepare and develop contract documentation.

This is a hands on procurement role and will require someone with previous experience in a public sector procurement position. Day to day you will be responsible for:

Ensuring that all tenders/competition processes are completed in accordance with both local and UK Procurement Legislation.

Devise and prepare contract documentation for high value, complex portfolio of goods and services in consultation with internal stakeholders, ensuring needs are understood and that functionality and performance are effective.

Establish category strategies with key stakeholders to ensure that a sustainable commercial strategy is in place. This will take into consideration savings forecasting, collaboration routes, whole supply chain risks and ethical procurement.

Provide specialist advice as a commercial advisor on supply markets and guidance pertaining to UK Procurement legislation and Contract Terms and Conditions.

The role is being offered on a hybrid basis with 1 day a week required in the office. The salary on offer is £35,000 to £41,000.
