If yes, then we have an exciting opportunity for you to join the HR Advisory Services team of our leading London-based University client.

As a Senior HR Consultant, you will:

  • Lead and manage a team of HR Consultants who provide generalist HR advice to their client areas in collaboration with HR Business Partners
  • Be a role model and subject matter expert on generalist HR matters including sensitive and complex employee relations matters
  • Deputise for the Head of HR in their absence and be a point of employee relations expertise and experience
  • Support the Head of HR in delivering a consistent, timely and robust HR Advisory service for the University
  • Drive and manage a variety of projects and engage with relevant stakeholders including senior managers, trade unions and external partners and agencies
  • Support line managers with management training around policies and employee relations

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • CIPD qualification (MCIPD/Level 7 desirable, Level 5 essential) and/or equivalent and demonstrated experience in a senior HR role
  • Excellent applied knowledge of UK employment legislation including Equality Act 2010
  • Expert Employee Relations experience and a track record of handling a wide range of complex employee relations cases
  • Experience of managing, leading and developing a team of early career HR staff, providing them with guidance, feedback and support
  • Experience of working in a large, complex and unionised environment Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders
