Driving climate change action on a global scale through targeted HR Director hire

Driving the urgent action necessary to confront the climate crisis, a fast-growing charity needed to appoint a new Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development to help them achieve their goal: climate, social and economic justice.

As the role was new and designed to lead a key transformational phase for the organisation, they needed a recruitment partner they could trust and that understood the complexities of hiring in the not-for-profit sector, as well as placing diversity and inclusion at the core of their strategy.

The Challenge

The Challenge

As the role was new to the business, the charity was unfamiliar with the candidate market, yet the importance of finding the right fit for the organisation could not be underestimated. Playing a leading part in developing their People Strategy and Organisational Development, the successful candidate needed to have the right skills and experience to make the role their own and have an instant positive impact.

Operating from a global network of offices, the charity also needed their new Director of HR and Organisational development to reflect the diversity of the organisation and its workforce, as well as their leading initiative that calls upon the collaboration of cities across the globe to deliver the urgent action needed to confront the climate crisis.

With such a detailed brief for their key project, attracting talent from across three geographical markets spanning the UK, US and South Africa, was set to be a challenging search demanding significant resources to engage, attract and assess candidates across multiple time-zones within the given four-week time period.

The Solution

Morgan Law worked with the Charity to design an accessible and inclusive advertising campaign to attract a wide range of candidates across the three geographies.

To support applicants and interested candidates we also created a bespoke micro-website where candidates were able to consider key information about the organisation, ahead of arranging a detailed one-to-one discussion with our lead consultant.

The Outcome

Following an intensive search period, Morgan Law was able to present a diverse shortlist of candidates for the client’s consideration that included representative talent from across the three key geographical locations.
