Chief Finance Officer
Salary: Competitive - VSM
Location: Weybridge, Surrey
Closing date: Monday 4th April 2016
NHS North West Surrey Clinical Commissioning Group serves a population of 350,000, utilising over £415m of public money to commission health and wellbeing services. We operate as a partnership between clinicians and managers, focussed on improving clinical outcomes and services for patients. We have a strong track record of financial and operational performance and realistic ambitions to be one of the highest performing CCGs in the country.
We have an exciting and challenging agenda ahead. Together with our partners we have set out a vision to deliver a new model of care by 2020 which will involve transformational change in the way we deliver health and wellbeing services. In addition, we have many important and strategic programmes requiring strong leadership.
We are now seeking to appoint a new Chief Finance Officer, following the promotion of the previous post holder externally. Reporting to the Chief Executive as a voting member of the Governing Body, you’ll bring excellent strategic financial expertise and leadership. We have a strong and established in-house finance team which delivers all financial management and accounting support to the CCG. As such, you’ll focus on the major strategic challenges and opportunities we face, working with senior colleagues and clinicians to determine and deliver CCG strategy.
To succeed, you’ll be a qualified accountant with experience of working at a senior level in a complex public sector organisation, ideally within a commissioning and/or healthcare context. You’ll need excellent commercial acumen and robust negotiating skills whilst maintaining a collaborative and supportive approach. This is not a role for someone who just enjoys the financial detail; we’ll expect you to make a visible strategic impact across the wider healthcare system and you’ll need the credibility, confidence and drive to deliver change that improves health outcomes for our communities.
