This permanent opportunity pays a salary of £30,000 per year and will be based at Mencap’s head office in old Street / Barbican.

Reporting to the Digital manager, the post holder will support the use of digital at Mencap.

As a Digital Content Officer for Mencap you will be expected to maintain a high standard of engaging web content on Mencap’s main website and microsites. They will be responsible for the day-to-day creation and editing of content and management of requests coming into the Digital team.

The Digital Content Officer will be required to edit copy, advise on SEO, support and lead training sessions, as well as being able to answer content related queries. The Digital Content Officer will also be involved in delivering content projects based on user needs and using Google Analytics to inform our decisions and prioritize work.

The Digital Content Officer should have sound experience of creative writing, know what makes good web copy and have strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to give constructive editorial feedback to your colleagues across the organisation. Building strong relationships with colleagues is important in order to develop innovative digital communications, helping to grow our online presence and share knowledge to build digital literacy at Mencap.

Your Role:

  • You will design and implement engaging acquisition and retention journeys in collaboration with different teams of all stakeholders
  • You will support and contribute to the digital strategy, in support of the Mencap’s corporate strategy, to engage, grow and activate Mencap’s digital Audiences.
  • You will work closely with colleagues within the digital team and the wider communications team, promoting best practice and sharing expertise across the organsiation and externally.
  • You will have good knowledge on how to use Google Analytics to report on the impact of our digital content and activity
