The Royal London site is now looking for an innovative and compassionate Assistant Director of Workforce to lead the delivery of a professional Workforce Development Business-Partner Service.
The Royal London offers a full range of local and specialist services, which includes one of the largest children's hospitals in the UK with one of London's busiest paediatric Accident and Emergency departments. Home to London’s Air Ambulance, The Royal London is also one of the capital's leading trauma and emergency care centres and hyper-acute stroke centres.

Your Role

It will entail enabling and supporting the site, CAG, Network and corporate leadership teams to ensure the highest standards of employee engagement, optimal workforce efficiency and effectiveness. Working closely with the Director of Workforce you will shape local strategies to meet service needs whilst advocating the trust’s values and behaviours.

You will drive and support:

  • Effective workforce planning & recruitment commissioning
  • Effective staff involvement and engagement
  • Cultural change and staff wellbeing initiatives.
  • Transition towards mediated ER solutions
  • Introduction of management and staff self-service. 

Your profile

You will be a creative problem solver and confident decision marker eager to be part of the improvement journey of Barts. You will have highly developed specialist workforce development knowledge gained through theoretical learning and extensive senior level HR generalist experience. You will have experience of developing a workforce strategy for a large, complex organisation with expert knowledge of employment law knowledge.
Alongside the strong generalist HR experience you will be credible, engaging and an excellent team player. Experience of working within the heath care sector is desired but not essential.
