We are seeking a Communications Officer to work closely with the Head of Communications and the rest of the Communications team to deliver effective internal and external communications across the range of organisational activities, channels and audiences. 

Responsibilities:

  • Delivering communications objectives and supporting the development and delivery of communications plans
  • Writing, commissioning and producing engaging, informative content for the homepage, staff room and communications pages on the organisation’s intranet
  • Writing press releases, responding to media queries and producing media briefings
  • Writing and producing weekly internal bulletins and stakeholder newsletters
  • Writing and producing a range of materials, including leaflets, publications, posters, campaign and event materials, ensuring style and brand consistency
  • Working closely with other team members to plan and schedule content for the organisation’s social media accounts, ensuring regular content and consistent messaging
  • Delivering social media campaigns for specific activities and projects
  • Working with the Web and Design Manager, the rest of the Communications team and teams across the organisation to keep the website and microsites updated with current, engaging content, including news stories
  • Working with the rest of the Communications team to produce the quarterly magazine, including writing articles, photography and page layout/design
  • Contributing to and supporting content and production of films and podcasts
  • Supporting key events, including the Annual General Meeting and staff engagement events
  • Liaising with external suppliers, such as printers, photographers and designers
  • Giving advice and support to colleagues about communications issues, including the identity guidelines
