Interim Service Manager - Head & Neck
An NHS Trust are seeking to appoint a Service Manager for a period of 3-6 months to support the Divisional Manager with operational delivery, performance and governance within the surgery directorate. Candidates will need to have experience at Service Manager level within surgery and ideally have experience of Head and Neck services, although General or Specialist Surgery experience will be considered.
Key duties will include:
- Support the development and delivery of the business plan to ensure continuous service improvement, quality and financial efficiency. Support on specific divisional surgery or cross Trust projects as required.
- Support the implementation of capital schemes and developments relating to portfolio of General Surgery services ensuring that appropriate procurement processes are followed and that schemes are delivered on-time and on budget.
- Responsible for direct line management of junior staff working within the division and for establishing and maintaining effective structures and systems of control for the management of staff, including recruitment, appraisal, development and support of the Trust’s HR policies and procedures.
- Support the establishment and maintenance of effective governance and safeguarding systems, working in close conjunction with the Head of Nursing and Clinical Directors, in order to enable the delivery of high quality clinical outcomes and patient experience.
