'Research Accounts' is a skilled team of experienced professionals that form part of the central finance division of the University. We provide world class support and informed guidance on financial management to all divisions and departments within the University. We are the first point of contact for all of the University's' funders on financial and compliance matters.

The role of Assurance Manager is a new position within the research accounts team, and has evolved to support our goals for excellence. Reporting to the Head of Research Accounts, you will responsible for working with academic, administrative, and finance staff across the University, to provide leadership, guidance, and support.

The successful applicant will:

• Be a qualified accountant with a strong understanding of financial management;
• Be able to influence and support internal stakeholders at the most senior levels;
• Have experience of implementing effective and efficient working practices, including on-going systems and process improvements;
• Be conversant with audit practice and principals, and ideally have experience of managing audit relationships.
• Be confident managing multiple external relationships;
• Possess strong reporting skills.

This is an exciting and crucial opportunity that will define and proactively support best practice across the business. You will champion the development of system and process enhancements, training, and communications in order to minimise financial and reputational risk. You will use confidence and professional judgement to undertake vital interaction with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior academics, managers, support staff, and external funders.
