Thank you for your interest in our current opportunities. I joined Sussex three years ago and I am immensely proud of the achievements of the IT Services team since we launched our strategy Ahead of the Digital Curve, in 2019.

For each of the past five years I have had the honour of being named one of the UK’s top 100 most transformative and disruptive CIOs (https://www.cio.com/uk/awards/), and I am looking forward to driving more positive change as we continue our journey into 2022 and beyond – could you be part of our exciting future?

With a substantial technology-supported Education and Research Investment Plan in place, and an Executive team who are fully committed to making Sussex digital leaders in the Higher Education sector, we’re aiming high.

The last year has seen us focus on the digitally-enhanced continuity of education for our 18,000+ students and ensure our 4000+ staff have the tools they needed to be productive through adoption of modern hybrid working practices. Building on these foundations, we’re now pushing ahead with our strategic plan, mobilising projects across our infrastructure, data and software estates that will touch every member of our diverse community.

We’re investing in our people too. These two new positions, the first of many in the coming months, will play a key role in delivering on our plans. We’ll be collaborating with colleagues across the University to deliver organisational change aligned to institutional goals and our evolving operating model, making us even stronger and fitter for the future.

Our IT strategy is critical to the achievement of our institutional goals and helping to drive improved positions in global league tables, alongside contributing to our aim to become one of the most sustainable Universities in the world - we are currently ranked in the top 4% globally. In October we were named the best in world for student diversity by students, and our beautiful campus on the borders of the South Downs National Park has just won a Green Flag Award for the fifth year in a row.

Working for an internationally oriented, research intensive University is as fascinating, challenging and inspiring as it can get for any IT professional, and Sussex has the ambition to match yours. I look forward to meeting you!
