Audit Specialist
My client is looking to recruit 3 Audit specialists, with Local Government experience, to join their team on either a permanent or an 18 month fixed term basis. Working as part of a team of 6 specialist auditors, your role will be to provide proactive advice/information to the Board, Committees, and colleagues including the contract management team on relevant audit-related matters. You will also deliver timely guidance on emerging developments, ensuring that the organisation integrates the latest audit requirements and best practices into their respective areas of responsibility.
Key duties will include:
- Attend and lead on technical audit related matters at your allocated clients contract management meetings etc when appropriate.
- Take overall responsibility for audit contract quality monitoring reporting for allocated firms, including leading or assisting with the compilation of audit-related content.
- Lead/assist in the development of the quality assessment approach and content in the audit services procurement and leading the evaluation process that considers the quality of tender responses.
- Act as the lead for one or two allocated firms on all scale fee and fee variation matters, managing submissions and queries to ensure timely communication, resolution, and accountability, and reviewing firms audit procedures and approach.
- Providing audit technical guidance to the fee variation review process and undertake first and second reviews where assigned.
- Develop and present audit subject‑matter content for external presentations; contribute expert input to materials, briefings and events as required.
- Develop system/process notes for audit matter related procedures.
To be considered for the role you will need to be a CCAB qualified accountant with technical knowledge of local audit regime and local government audit.
The role is mainly homebased with some travel to the London office when required. The salary range is £69,400 to £84,800 + excellent benefits.
